AIRLINK TO CARRY OUT TRIAL FLIGHT TO ST HELENA

Airlink are expected to carry out a ‘proving flight’ to St Helena on Monday, 21 August 2017, using an Embraer E190-100IGW aircraft. This proving flight is for Airlink to demonstrate to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) operational proficiency in terms of ETOPS (Extended Range Twin Engine Operations) requirements.

SUCCESSFUL EMBRAER TRIAL FLIGHT

An Embraer ERJ-190-100 jet aircraft, operated by Embraer Commercial Aviation as a non-commercial trial and demonstration flight, visited St Helena Airport between Wednesday 30 November and Friday 2 December 2016. The flight, carrying 11 crew, including two SA Airlink pilots, arrived from Recife, Brazil, and made a smooth landing on Runway 02 (from the south).

SUCCESSFUL TECHNICAL STOP BY TRONOS An Avro RJ100 jet aircraft (nine pictures attached), operated by Tronos Jet Maintenance and carrying two Atlantic Star Airlines personnel, successfully conducted a technical stop at St Helena Airport on Friday 21 October 2016 - as part of a delivery flight to a customer in Chile.

Both are technical stops, as part of a route for delivery of the aircraft to Chile.

NOAA TO FLY OVER ST HELENA

As part of an International study to be able to deliver more accurate weather forecasts across the South Atlantic, a NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) ‘flying laboratory’ is planning to operate over St Helena this coming weekend, to undertake a series of weather-related measurements.

WED 20 JULY 2016 A Beechcraft King Air aircraft operated by TAB Charters is expected to arrive at St Helena Airport this afternoon at approximately 13.30hrs. On board will be the team from Flight Calibration Services Limited (FCSL) for the purpose of undertaking routine Calibration Flights in connection with the navigation aids at the Airport.

A Bombardier Challenger business jet aircraft operated by ExecuJet and chartered by Basil Read will arrive at St Helena Airport on Monday 20 June and depart on Tuesday 21 June 2016. This will be the sixth fixed-wing aircraft to land at St Helena Airport.

Another major milestone for St Helena Airport was achieved yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 10 May 2016, when Air Safety Support International (ASSI) issued an Aerodrome Certificate to St Helena Airport - having been satisfied that the Airport infrastructure, aviation security measures and air traffic control service complies with international aviation safety and security standards.
